For clients who want to develop and make the most of their land, our experienced landscape architects help by creating clear concept designs, sketch and masterplans, landscape visual studies, environmentally sustainable designs, detailed drawings and 3D realistic computer models that can fast-track the project through the planning process, saving you time and money.
Our designers work closely with clients to understand their needs from the early concept stage, putting the project brief into an overall master plan which can then be used to meet with the Local Planning Authority, Statutory Consultees and public representatives and advise on any specialist studies or reports which may be required for the development, such as ecology, hydrology or ground investigations. The landscape architect can then prepare accurate topographic surveys, layout plans and 3D realistic computer models to help visualise the design and gain planning or government approvals.
Once Planning Consent is granted and attached conditions are satisfied, our landscape architects prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, budget estimates and advice on construction contracts. Throughout construction, the architects will visit the site, attend meetings and report to the client to ensure that the construction specifications are being followed. On completion, defect checks are carried out to make sure of a high standard of work and that the project can be handed over to the clients and ongoing landscape management plans can be implemented.

3D Computer Modelling for AVR & AR
Using accurate 3D computer modelling to give a realistic view of how a new development lets us show the client our ideas and acts to convey the designs to planners, statutory consultee’s and the public and can help to fast-track projects through the planning process to great advantage. 3D landscape computer models can be created on a large scale taking in several kilometres around the proposed development as an aid to visual assessment studies and Accurate Visual Representations (AVR) of proposed developments can even show the scheme in Augmented Reality (AR) so that a tablet of phone screen can be held upon the empty site and see a vision of the proposed development from that location on the ground.
Earthworks and Volumetrics
Using 3D surveying and modelling software means that you can measure the volumetric quantity of earth to be moved on any size scheme once you have the existing topographic survey of the area to compare with. Whether it is to balance cut and fill within a construction site, estimate the potential volume of minerals in subsurface layers from borehole results or to compare before and after levels to visualise the movement of materials, we can accurately estimate these quantities and provide you with graphic plans and sections to show the results. Our digital 3D contour plans can now be sent directly to bulldozers fitted with GPS and Trimble Software so that the new landform can be sculped with the minimum amount of human interpretation, saving time and money by getting the earthworks right first time, avoiding costly delays and double handling.
The Design of Water Features
The design of a pond, lake, stream or any water feature is part science and part artistic vision, but the true test of a great water feature is that it should appear as a natural part of the landscape. From detailed topography surveys, we prepare accurate plans, sections, and realistic 3D images of the proposed water features, together with specifying any aquatic planting. As independent consultants, our landscape architects can advise you of the best and most cost-effective methods of construction for any water feature, depending on the location, ground conditions, use and maintenance. We design attenuation ponds and hollows, irrigation reservoirs, ornamental ponds and large scale lakes, streams or reedbeds for filtration and water cleaning.
